Weather stripping tips

These days we’re all looking for ways to cut the cost of heating and cooling our homes. Newer houses are built with these things in mind. But those with older homes, listen up!

First of all you’ve got to stop the outside air from getting in and the inside air from getting out. Sealing up the gaps around your windows and doors is a great start.

Not only that, it’ll keep the creepy crawleys out and for a few bucks, it’s really simple to do. There’s a wide range of stick-on weather stripping, rubber ones, foam ones and even a choice of colours.

Grab a tape measure, pad and pen and measure up how much you need. Then head on down to your local hardware store.

Make sure you clean the surface really well before you stick the weather stripping on or it will fall off in less than a week.
