Kitchen makeover

When I bought my house a few years ago, one of the first things that had to go was the yellow laminated bench tops. They were all the rage in the 60’s but not anymore.

Mine were just ugly, but if yours are scratched, worn out or have burn marks on them, there’s an easy fix.

There are some great paint products designed especially for bench tops. I particularly like Rust-oleum Countertop Transformations which is available in 5 different colours and can be done over a weekend.

A few hours work, a couple hundred bucks and you can change the entire look of your kitchen.

I always say, preparation and reading the instructions are the most important parts.

Go to the local hardware or paint store and ask them for the different paint options for your bench tops. You can save yourself thousands and no need for a tradesman. It’s a great DIY project that anyone can do. Check out www.rustoleum.com.au
